garden party wedding inspiration

I love when friends get married and I can help them in any way (big or small). Brandon and Kelsey are college friends who are getting married in Raleigh next year. Kelsey has great style and has been on top of the wedding planning. She and Brandon even have a darling blog to document their planning process. While Kelsey doesn't have a planner, she recently contacted me to help her with some design direction (basically to take all the beautiful ideas she has and put them in a more cohesive form). I was happy to oblige and put together this inspiration board that featured many of Kelsey's own images found on Pinterest. I have no doubt that Kelsey and Brandon's wedding day will be beautiful, charming and a great testament to the loving marriage that these two will have together. Congrats friends.

cozy comforts

As temperatures drop each January, I am happy to spend my evenings curled up in my cozy living room and enveloped in warmth from a hot cup of herbal tea and a favorite blanket. Hibernate in style with some of these favorites.
100% beeswax candle from Seda France, Vintage book from The Cheshire Cat Gallery, Cashmere throw available at Kaboodle, Cable knit slippers from Ugg, Turquoise mug from Teasy.

kentucky derby

Tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby and I am thrilled to be attending my first-ever Derby Party here in Raleigh. So in honor of the occasion, I created this style board for a day at the races. And while I am still putting together looks for my own ensemble, I do have my hat! And lets be real. Isn't that all that matters?

dogwood &  lace

If you grew up in North Carolina, you know that nothing says “Spring” more than Dogwood Blossoms. So in honor of our state flower, I developed this Dogwood and Lace inspiration board that's all about timeless southern details. A simple, letterpress dogwood motif in blue-gray, is a lovely way to embellish classic stationary. Hummingbird cake adorned with a simple, dogwood blossom will make you "hum" with delight as you bite into each layer filled with a sweet nectar of pecans, crushed pineapple, and bananas. Beautiful lace serving platters engraved with your initials are a perfect wedding keepsake or family heirloom. And finally, dogwood blossoms tucked into an updo or loose floral arrangement, are the finishing touches for a lovely spring soiree.
