happiness rolled up

Can I share a little secret? Despite my love for pretty packaging and lovely labels, I am very simplistic when it comes to my presentation of gifts. You will never receive a present from me with layers of ribbons or bows. Thanks to the blogosphere, Japanese colored masking tape has become one of my go-to items for dressing up parcels. I simply wrap my present in white or brown kraft paper, add the decorative tape...and voila! I am party ready.

camellia love

Beautiful camellias are one of my favorite sights around the city of Raleigh this time of year. After a recent sale at my favorite nursery, I am very excited that my winter garden has been injected with a much needed burst of color. The blooms also look beautiful floating in bowls or grouped in white pitchers on my windowsill.

objects d'art

I am smitten with these frames from the which can transform your favorite everyday items into works of art. Each one has a vase, shelf, or hook to highlight the objects within. Wouldn't they be darling in a bedroom, entry, or over a small writing desk?
